Important Information about Funeral Plans
Please note from 30th April the Society will be unable to offer the service of providing pre-paid funeral plans. The reason for this is from 29 July 2022 the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) will take responsibility for regulating the pre-paid funeral plan market.
In light of the new regulation, our supplier, Golden Charter has made the decision to stop selling pre-paid funeral plans through intermediaries (businesses like the Society, for example). The Society is disappointed that we will not be able to offer our members this service going forward.
What does this mean if you have a funeral plan with Golden Charter?
Your funeral plan with Golden Charter is safe. All plan holder contributions are held securely in The Golden Charter Trust and ring-fenced for future funerals for added protection.
